Valeene Beauty (Claypool 1-94) American persimmon was developed by the renowned breeder Jim Claypool and named by Donald Compton. This cultivar is the result of a cross between 'Mitchellena' and 'Early Golden,' combining the best traits of these two varieties to create a tree that is both highly productive and visually stunning. The tree produces large, bright orange fruits that measure 2 to 2½ inches in diameter and ripen somewhat earlier in the season than many other persimmon varieties. Valeene Beauty American persimmon is a precocious cultivar, meaning it begins bearing fruit at a relatively young age. Beyond its fruit, this tree is known for its ornamental appeal as it boasts unusually large, glossy leaves that enhance its visual charm, making it a beautiful addition to any yard or orchard. In the growing season, the lush green foliage creates a striking backdrop for the vibrant orange fruit, while in autumn, the tree’s leaves take on warm, golden tones, adding seasonal interest to the landscape.
