The third release by Kentucky State University, “KSU Chappell™” is considered the most vigorously growing pawpaw cultivar available. Very high yielding, it produces exceptional quality fruits averaging 8-12 ounces with some up to 1 pound. The flesh has a thick, custard texture and a complex, mild tropical banana/mango flavor with hints of honey. It has the reputation of being one of the best tasting pawpaws on the market. Trees are vigorous, strong and fast growing. Ripens mid-season.
