Description
Grown by John Gordon of Amherst, NY as a seedling from the Cornell University breeding program, “Prok” is generally considered one of the best quality American persimmons in today’s market. The tree is self-fertile and produces abundant crops of very large 2½-3 inch fruits with exceptional honey-sweet flavor and smooth, custard-like texture when fully ripe. A great choice for those who like to process or cook with persimmon because it is seedless as long as there are no male persimmons nearby to pollinate it. Bears an earlier crop and is a good choice for more Northern range growers.
