A Top-Performing Cultivar with Exceptional Yield
KSU Atwood™ Pawpaw is a seedling from Maryland that was developed at the Kentucky State University (KSU) pawpaw breeding program and is KSU’s first release.
It is the heaviest producer of their releases to date. It bears an average of 150 medium-sized fruits per mature tree and boasts better than average disease resistance.
The flesh of KSU Atwood™ Pawpaw has an enjoyable creamy, yellow texture and a tropically sweet banana/mango flavor with a strong, fruity aroma. It ripens mid-season.
Key Features of KSU Atwood Pawpaw:
* First release by Kentucky State University
* Extremely high yielding
* Excellent disease resistance
* Creamy flesh
* Mango/Banana flavor
* Early-Mid ripening
USDA Zones: 5-8
Spacing: 8-10 foot centers (Requires closer spacing for better pollination.)
Other Considerations: Pawpaws require more than 1 cultivar for cross-pollination (This means you need at least two trees with different names. We recommend planting 3 to ensure excellent pollination.)
Beautiful Beginnings pawpaws have highly-developed and extensive root systems that set your tree up for success from the very beginning by helping it to anchor well and grow vigorously with proper care.
All pawpaws trees are shipped as potted plants in the Spring or early Summer. Conact us about autumn ordering and shipping.
