The Earliest Start to the Season

(Morus alba x rubra)

One of the very earliest ripening mulberries available, “Early Bird” kicks off the summer fruit harvest with style and flavor. Producing copious amounts of sweet, large berries (1.5 in. long), this is a great choice for anyone looking to get a head start on or to extend their harvest season. “Early Bird” is also an ideal option if you are wanting to distract birds away from a more prized harvest, hence the name. Starts ripening early June, even in cooler climates (and possibly sooner in warmer ones), continuing through July.
