Tropical Treat pawpaw is a remarkable find. Selected from Madison County, Kentucky by Woody Walker in 2010 and introduced to the nursery scene by Cliff England in 2015,  it is a highly productive tree, with fruits that can grow to be up to 6 inches long and average 6-10 ounces. It has a thicker skin making it less likely to bruise when handled and keeps well in cold storage. It requires a long, hot growing season for optimal size and flavor and given enough days (10+) above 90 degrees, it will show a color break when ripe. Tropical Treat pawpaw is considered to be one of the best tasting pawpaws on the market and has a mild tropical Mango/Vanilla custard flavor with a hint of pineapple. Ripens very late-season.

Other Considerations

Pawpaws require more than 1 cultivar for cross-pollination (This means you need at least two trees with different names. We recommend planting 3 to ensure excellent pollination.)

Beautiful Beginnings pawpaws have highly-developed and extensive root systems that set your tree up for success from the very beginning by helping it to anchor well and grow vigorously with proper care.

All pawpaws trees are shipped as potted plants in the Spring or early Summer.
