Jerry’s Big Girl pawpaw is one of many superior cultivars introduced to the market by breeder, Jerry Lehman of Terre Haute, IN. Its firm, superior banana-like flavor won 1st place in the “Best Pawpaw” taste contest at the Ohio Pawpaw Festival in 2013 & 2017. The extra large fruit size of Jerry’s Big Girl pawpaw averages 10-14 ounces (but has been known to bear fruits over 1 pound) and won 1st place in the “Biggest Pawpaw” contest at the Ohio Pawpaw Festival in 2014. It ripens mid to late season.
