KY Legend (Titan) Pawpaw was introduced to the market by Woody Walker from a batch of experimental seeds given to Cliff England of Sandgap, KY by breeder Jerry Lehman of Terra Haute, IN around 2010. The seeds are a cross between 'Jerry’s Big Girl' ('Sunflower' x 'Sam Norris 15') and 'Jerry’s Delight' (open-pollinated KY 8-2). The flavor is excellent and has been likened to that of “Sunflower” and pineapple. The firm flesh of KY Legend (Titan) Pawpaw keeps well even without refrigeration and will continue to ripen after it has been picked, unlike almost every other cultivar of pawpaw. The tree is exceptionally productive and also has characteristics of gigantism in the leaves and fruits with an average fruit size of over 12 ounces. (The largest fruits can be over 1 ½ pounds.) It ripens mid-late season.

Other Considerations
Pawpaws require more than 1 cultivar for cross-pollination (This means you need at least two trees with different names. We recommend planting 3 to ensure excellent pollination.)
Beautiful Beginnings pawpaws have highly-developed and extensive root systems that set your tree up for success from the very beginning by helping it to anchor well and grow vigorously with proper care.
All pawpaws trees are shipped as potted plants in the Spring or early Summer.
